TEACHING & LEADERSHIP

PROFESSIONAL CLASS

Helen leads professional class across the U.K. and internationally, exploring flow, speed, and rhythmic detail alongside core elements of cross-disciplinary practice, including voice and text.

She teaches regularly for Brum Pro Class, Drift Pro, Tripspace (London) MAC Birmingham, and the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire of Acting. She has taught stand-alone workshops/engaged in residencies with NYCD (Northern School of Contemporary Dance), The Place (London), The Southbank Centre, Candela Fina, DMU, Wolverhampton University, Bolton University and others.

COMMUNITY

Helen’s community practice deepens her ethos of dance as a vital form of connection and communication. Working with people aged 3–90 across a rich variety of settings, her approach emphasises connection—to the body, to breath, and to lived experience. She has lead spaces that hold community learning and making for MAC Birmingham, FABRIC Dance, the Birmingham Opera Company, Autin Dance Theatre, The Middle Floor, The Birmingham Hippodrome, and others. She is one of the 10 founding directors of Dance Co-Operative Birmingham.

Whether working with new learners, or established artists, Helen encourages participants to move with authenticity, fostering environments rooted in nourishment, safety, and trust.
